Dr. Zhou Xiaotian, Vice President of Siemens China, also has an identity that is little known to the outside world - the leader of the technology roadmap compilation team of China's refrigerator industry.
On October 31, 2013, he hurried to Wuxi to attend the 10th China Household Appliance Technology Conference. The next day, in the refrigerator sub-venue, he was the first to speak, and the theme on the projection screen was "China's refrigerator industry technology roadmap (2013 edition)".
The refrigerator industry technology roadmap is a programmatic document for the technological innovation of a country's refrigerator industry. The revision of China's refrigerator technology roadmap began in 2011, and in November of that year, the first version of the technology roadmap was officially released. Since April 2013, in order to improve the revision roadmap, Zhou Xiaotian and his partners, leaders of the Home Appliance Association, experts from some universities and research institutes, and technical leaders of mainstream refrigerator manufacturers in the Chinese market, have held a number of seminars in Beijing, Changshu and other places.
More than half a year of hard work culminated in a 62-page booklet, which is an upgraded version of the 2011 edition, but not the last, and until 2020, it will go through small revisions every two years and major revisions every five years.
Compared with the first version of the technology roadmap, the 2013 version adds an analysis of the current state of technology in 2013, updates the analysis of social and market demand according to the changes in the social and market environment from 2012 to 2013, and makes necessary revisions to the industry goals according to the current state of technology this year.
An analysis of the current state of the industry
According to Zhou Xiaotian, Zhongyikang data shows that in 2012, the total production capacity of China's refrigeration products (refrigerators and freezers) was 136 million units, including 106 million refrigerators and 29 million electric freezers. In 2012, the total production of refrigerators and freezers was 83 million units, accounting for about 54% of the world's total. Among them, the output of refrigerators was 66 million units, and the export volume was 20.06 million units, accounting for 30% of the total; The output of freezers was 17 million units, and the export volume was 8.57 million units, accounting for 50% of the total. With the extraordinary expansion of the market size, the penetration rate of refrigerators in rural households has shown an agglomeration and explosive growth, and the number of 100 households has surged from 26 in 2007 to 67.3 in 2012, in addition, in the urban market, the number of 100 households has reached 98.5 in 2012.
Zhou Xiaotian said that refrigerators as durable goods, product life is usually about 10 years, since 2012, product structure upgrading and manufacturing innovation have become the two highlights of the refrigerator industry's transformation of growth mode.
Modification of industry objectives
In the technical roadmap part, Zhou Xiaotian and other experts have raised some requirements and added some suggestions after several rounds of discussions.
Zhou Xiaotian said that in the energy-saving part of the industrial goal, the 2011 version of the roadmap suggested that "the energy efficiency level of the refrigerator in 2015 will be increased by 20% compared with 2009, and the energy efficiency level of the refrigerator in 2020 will be increased by 15% compared with 2015", while the 2013 version requires that "the energy efficiency level of the refrigerator in 2015 will be increased by 30% compared with 2009, and 20% in 2020 compared with 2015".
In 2011, the industry's assumptions about product structure upgrading were still concentrated in more than 250L, and more than 300L was not unimaginable. However, the 2013 edition mentions that "by 2015, the domestic market will grow rapidly with large capacity refrigerators of more than 300 liters, of which the proportion of multi-door and side-by-side refrigerators will increase from about 4% and 8% in 2013 to 6% and 10% respectively." ”
In addition, the 2013 version also added some new requirements in terms of system, size standardization, intelligence, etc.: experts agreed that by 2015, the refrigerator system should be optimized by 5% compared with 2009, and by 2020, it should be increased by 5%; In the future, China should formulate an industry standard for the standardization of the size of the refrigerator, and it is recommended to achieve the standardization of the size of the whole machine by 2018, in addition, the industry should also establish a built-in refrigerator standard as soon as possible. In terms of intelligence, the 2013 version added suggestions for refrigerators to realize the automatic identification of food in food management and the remote control of refrigerators.
